Carrie Ann Inaba opened up about the support she has been receiving from Julie Chen, the host she is set to replace on “The Talk.”

Speaking to People during an exclusive interview, Inaba explained that she has been receiving nothing but positivity from the former host of the show, Julie Chen.

“When she learned that I got the job, she sent me the most beautiful floral arrangement. She’s like, ‘I’m always in your corner.’ Woman to woman, that’s amazing.”

Inaba was announced as the replacement for the 49-year-old co-host previously on January 2. Chen was a part of the show ever since it made its debut on CBS in 2010.

Chen announced her retirement from the show with an emotional video, which came out only a few days after her husband, former CBC CEO Les Moonves, announced his resignation due to multiple sexual assault allegations against him.

Besides expressing her gratitude toward all the co-hosts of the show, Chen also took time to address Inaba’s selection.

"You look awful good sitting in that chair, my Asian sister. I’m just saying,” she said, giving Inaba a huge shout-out.

Speaking about Chen’s retirement announcement video, Inaba admitted that she was “blown away.” She was impressed by the “gracious” demeanor of Chen even during a trying time of her life.

“That doesn’t happen often in this business when someone is so gracious in such a challenging time for herself. I have nothing but love for her and I feel so lucky we were able to form this friendship,” she told People.

Inaba also admitted that she is thrilled to start her new journey on “The Talk,” before going on to open up about her respect for other co-hosts, Sheryl Underwood, Eve, Sara Gilbert, and Sharon Osbourne.

However, Chen is not the only person backing Inaba. Angelica McDaniel, executive vice president of daytime programs at CBS Entertainment, said about her, “Carrie Ann connects with audiences by being genuine.”

McDaniel further stated that she is forward to Inaba bringing her “warmth, heart and vulnerability” to the show.
