May We Be Getting Fooled About the Royal Jewels Scandal?
Rumors about the British Royal family are always flying around, and some fans have not managed to keep up with most of them lately. There is speculation about feuding between Princes William and Harry and problems between their wives. While everyone is waiting for the birth of baby Sussex, another rumor about Meghan borrowing the royal jewels appeared. But, it might not be what most people think. Let’s find out more!
A ROYAL PROHIBITION
According to rumors, the Queen has absolutely forbidden the Duchess from wearing Princess Diana’s jewelry. As stated by Anthony Blaire, a reporter from the Daily Star, Meghan cannot access jewels from the Royal Collection. Additionally, it has been said that Markle talked to Prince William about the restrictions imposed by the Queen as she should have access to them.
The reports are surprising because the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, has been allowed to use many gems owned by Elizabeth II and Princess Diana in the past. Meghan has actually used some jewels from the Royal Collection, such as the Queen Mary Princess Bandeau for her wedding day, but allegedly, her behavior lately has led to the Queen to prohibit her use of the crown’s pieces.
An insider claimed, “Aspects of Meghan’s behavior – including before the royal wedding – caused resentment with forces within Buckingham Palace. This is a surprising situation that has been going on behind the scenes over the past few months and has caused tension and upset, especially for Harry.” The source continued:
“The Queen herself was not impressed with some of Meghan’s demands, especially as a new member of the royal family. As a result, Buckingham Palace has decided that not all items from the Queen’s royal collection will be opened up to Meghan,”
However, these rumors might not be true at all.
KATE MIDDLETON HAS BORROWED MANY JEWELS
Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton has been a fashion icon ever since she married Prince William in 2011. Her wedding dress was the gown all girls dream of having, and her Cartier halo tiara belonged to the Queen. She has also used Elizabeth II’s pearl drop earrings and her maple leaf brooch. The Duchess of Cambridge has worn them with grace as the future Queen consort should.
Naturally, people wonder about Meghan Markle’s access to the royal collection. She has been able to use some pieces such as the tiara for her wedding day, and Princess Diana’s aquamarine ring for the reception. However, other than those things, the former actress has always used her own jewelry, not borrowed like Kate.
IS SHE BANNED FROM THE COLLECTION?
Many people have taken that to mean that the Queen has banned her use of the jewels, especially after the reports from inside sources confirmed it. Some have wondered if the fact that Kate has been in the family longer than Markle is influencing this decision, but that is not the case. Nothing has stopped Meghan from borrowing the crown jewels.
Kate Middleton might be the future Queen consort, and while it is unlikely that Meghan will ever have such a high position, she has many of the same privileges as her sister-in-law. But, the Duchess of Cambridge has simply attended more events and official parties than the former actress. This has given her the chance to rock some of the best pieces in the Queen’s collection.
Meghan would actually be criticized if she wore too much fancy jewelry right off the bat. But, Queen Elizabeth II has given the Duchess of Sussex a couple of beautiful pieces. Therefore, even though the accessories belong to her, they prove that Meghan is loved by the Queen.
HER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE QUEEN
Their last outing together happened in June 2018, and they were seen laughing. However, some people think that their cordial relationship might have changed because of the feud rumors with Kate Middleton as well as everything that happened with Thomas Markle. Luckily, it has been reported that things between them are still well.
A source from Us Weekly said,
“Meghan and the Queen come from two very different backgrounds and generations. But there’s a warmth between the two that is genuine and loving. Whenever they’re together, they always have a giggle."
Furthermore, the insider said that the Queen likes Meghan’s perspective on world issues.
“She seems really interested in hearing Meghan’s thoughts on the world," that person claimed.
Moreover, the outlet also stated that the former actress is doing everything to be a more positive influence on the world.
"She wants to have a more direct voice to have more impact.”
This comes after an article from Vanity Fair said that the Queen loved Markle’s work.

She is so impressed that even in her condition, she has continued going to events and more. It was also stated that the Queen would write her a letter. This is a great honor. “The Queen is amazed by the duchess’s energy and stamina given that she is so heavily pregnant,” a royal insider said.
“For the Queen and her generation, you generally hid your bump and put your feet up in this stage of pregnancy, but Meghan hasn’t stopped. There may well be a letter waiting for the duke and duchess when they return [from Morocco]. She respects hard work and loyalty above everything.”
THE BAN IS A FAKE STORY
If her relationship is that wonderful with the Queen, then, why did the rumors surface? Unfortunately, media outlets love spreading false news and fake drama, especially about the Royals. It seems that there is no evidence to support the rumors about Meghan being banned from the royal collection. She is free to borrow from all the pieces and will probably do so in the future.
All her fans want to see her looking more princess-like than ever with flashy jewels. However, Meghan might just like simpler accessories.
