Melania Trump’s Spokesperson Revealed Whether or Not FLOTUS Pays for Her Lavish Outfits
Melania Trump’s excellent sense of fashion is admired by thousands, but do we ever wonder who pays for those ultra-chic, expensive outfits? Read on to find out!
Her wardrobe is definitely loaded with expensive clothes and it is natural for people to assume that the First Lady’s lavish wardrobe is funded by their taxes, but her spokesperson Stephanie Grisham has to say otherwise.
"She pays for all her own clothes," Grisham said in an emailed statement.
According to W, Herve Pierre, a French-born designer who co-designed her inauguration gown, acts as her facto stylist. The designer also revealed that he anonymously shops for Melania’s outfits in New York.
"I go to Bergdorf, I go to Saks, Michael Kors, Dior. What is challenging is when I cannot say what it is for," he said.
It is good to see that the First Lady plays by the rule when it comes to shopping. According to Ethics rule, first ladies can accept clothes from designers but they are later sent to National Archives as the property of the government.
No matter how or where she buys her clothes, Melania always looks elegant while donning them. Some of her most expensive outfits are from brands like Balmain, Gucci, Michael Kors, Christian Louboutin, and Dolce & Gabbana among others.
Perhaps the most expensive outfit that we have seen till date is the floral jacket from Dolce & Gabbana, valued at a whopping $51,500.
She might be a true fashion connoisseur who is willing to spend extravagant amounts on clothes, but not all designers are willing to dress the First Lady. Designers including Sophie Theallet, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, and Naeem Khan have said they wouldn’t dress Trump.
