A Glimpse into Meghan Markle & Prince Harry's New Home with Baby Archie

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to Frogmore Cottage early in April, but the biggest change in their lives came when Archie Harrison was born on May 6. Now they are adapting to their life as a family of three.

While Frogmore Cottage has been a royal residence since its construction in the early 19th century, the 35-acre property located within Windsor Castle underwent important renovations to become suitable for a single-family home recently.

The 10-bedroom private residence was given to new parents Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, supporting the couple in their move towards their autonomy from Kensington Palace after splitting their household office.

THE FIRST TWO WEEKS

As of May 22, Harry and Meghan have spent two weeks at their new home with baby Archie, and so far it has proven to be the perfect oasis of privacy they were looking for to settle as a growing family.

“Their home is so cute and warm. The energy of the space is so much better [than Kensington Palace]. It’s a total fresh start,” a source close to the royal couple told People.

According to the news outlet, Harry and Meghan’s new routine includes waking up at 4 am to their crying bundle of joy, but they are embracing this new phase of their lives all the way.

NO NEIGHBORS

“I presume it must be nice to get out and away. Without neighbors who are all either family or staff [at Kensington Palace], they will now have their own thing,” a family friend also shared, calling the move “a really healthy thing to do.”

Despite treasuring their newfound privacy, the Sussex’s also like to receive guests at their home, and the cottage makes a great spot to entertain their family and friends when they stop by.

“He likes having his friends around him,” a friend of Harry’s said about the 34-year-old prince.

The property also has its share of gardens where Harry and Meghan’s two dogs Bogart and Guy can be at their ease, and where the growing family can enjoy some time outside in peace.

“It has the most amazing mulberry walk, where we would pick mulberries for Prince Philip’s mulberry gin,” a former palace staffer commented.

“And when the Queen is there on a Sunday afternoon, it is a five-minute walk up the hill for tea with Granny. It is gorgeous,” the person added.

FAMILY VISITORS

Prince William and Kate Middleton, the other half of the “Fab Four,” are among the few who have already visited Harry and Meghan in their new home, first during Easter and again a week after Archie was born, to meet their newest nephew.

Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland also spent a month at Frogmore Cottage to help her daughter adapt to her life as the mother of a newborn, but contrary to the rumors about her moving in with the couple for good, she has returned to the US.
