The Biggest Regret Prince Harry May Have For Baby Archie
With the arrival of baby Archie, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are absolutely thrilled and reportedly enjoying every moment of parenthood so far. And, according to Prince Harry’s comments, the new dad is simply loving the new journey that is fatherhood. However, there are some bumps along the road, which the prince is trying to cope with. Apparently, at a time like this, Prince Harry is missing his late mother, Princess Diana, more than ever now. During his trip to the Netherlands, Harry decided to open up about why Archie’s arrival has made him miss Diana even more.
Prince Harry was beaming with pride after Archie’s arrival
Harry was absolutely glowing when he gave the first interview after Archie’s birth. You could instantly tell he was feeling like a proud father, especially when he commented on the big event, saying: “I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning, a very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly imagine.”
He continued to share his feelings on the topic, stating that childbirth is “beyond comprehension” also adding, “we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there. It’s been amazing so we just wanted to share this with everybody.”
Not only is he feeling like a proud father, but Prince Harry was beaming with pride when speaking of Meghan as well. The prince stated that he was “so incredibly proud” of his wife, and added, “As every father and parent will ever say, you know, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to-die-for, so I’m just over the moon.”
Prince Harry regrets that Archie doesn’t have the chance to meet Princess Diana
Of course, at a time like this, it would be hard to imagine that Harry would be experiencing anything other than positive emotions. With so much excitement within the royal family, and everyone stopping by to meet baby Archie, the couple’s happiness is at an all-time high. But, these types of milestones and life events bring up a certain feeling of sadness for the prince. According to Duncan Larcombe, royal expert and author of ‘Prince Harry: The Inside Story’, is of the opinion that “one of his big regrets” is that Harry’s son will never get the chance to meet his mother, Diana.
Larcombe also shared with Yahoo’s Royal Box:
“I think we’ve seen how happy Harry is and in that interview, he couldn’t hide his joy. But, Diana’s missing. In a quiet moment away from all the hoi-polloi and the fuss he will sit down and one of his big regrets will be that he never had an opportunity to show his mum how proud he is of his new son. Unfortunately, that’s something Harry’s had to live with since he was 12.”
Prince Harry misses his mother now more than ever
It’s a heartbreaking situation to be in. Even though it’s been so long, it seems like time, unfortunately, cannot heal all wounds. Prince Harry shared on his recent trip to the Netherlands, why he’s been missing Princess Diana even more ever since Archie joined the picture.
In a segment from People magazine’s ‘People Now’ show, Prince Harry shared the reason with a former soldier during his visit. Imogen Lloyd Webber, a royal correspondent, stated: “During a bike ride around the park Harry opened up to Dennis van der Stroon… Dennis said that Harry spoke to him about how becoming a father reminded him of his late mother.”
She added to the topic, stating: “Actually William talked about these milestone moments especially with weddings and so forth, that’s when they miss Diana the most.” People’s senior editor, Michelle Tauber, also added that during the bike ride, Prince Harry said, “I realized a mother is security and I realized that when I lost my mum, I lost that security and a son needs that.”
Prince Harry will find ways to ‘remember all the special times’
It might sound strange, but there is a silver lining to all of this after all. Prince Harry suffered a tragic, huge loss - this is an unfortunate fact. However, according to Larcome, the royal expert theorizes that “for people who have lost their parents in childhood it gives extra significance once they’ve become parents themselves.”
He continued to add:
“When Harry is the hands-on dad that I’m sure he will be, he’ll remember all the special times he had, all the fun things he did with his mother, and this little boy will have one hell of an upbringing because Harry will throw everything he does into his family.”
The loss of one’s mother is simply unimaginable, as are the emotions that Prince Harry is going through at the moment. Although the prince seems torn between feeling joyful, as well as regretful over his son not being able to meet Princess Diana, we know one thing for sure … all of this only means that Prince Harry is going to be putting that much more effort into being a doting, wonderful father. And we cannot wait to sit back and watch their beautiful father-son relationship unfold!
