Here's What the Queen Reportedly Told Donald Trump during the Final Minutes of His State Visit

Donald Trump’s three-day state visit to the United Kingdom ended on Wednesday, after the D-Day 75th commemoration in Portsmouth. Before leaving the Queen reportedly told Trump to visit again to which he referred to her as a “great woman.”

President Donald Trump bonded with the Queen a few times during his three-day state visit, starting with a dinner banquet at the ballroom of Buckingham Palace and ending with the D-Day celebration.

Before he and the first lady flew to Ireland, Trump bid farewell to the monarch who uttered her last few words to the world leader. Trump reportedly told the Queen:

“It was a great honor to be with you,” to which she replied, “I hope you come to this country again soon.”

Trump also met with the U.S. Ambassador, Woody Johnson, and Foreign Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, who greeted the president during his arrival.

Upon their arrival in Ireland, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar welcomed the first couple and was heard talking about the Brexit. Before their meeting, Trump told the Irish Prime Minister:

“Probably you’ll ask me about Brexit because I just left some very good people who are very involved with Brexit, as you know.”

He continued to discuss the “border situation in the United States,” which he believes will work well in Ireland. However, Varadkar thought otherwise.

Although it is unsure if Trump discussed Brexit with Theresa May, the two were able to tackle the issue of climate change after a spokesman said that the U.K. was “disappointed by the U.S. decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement in 2017.”

Another expected discussion between the two world leaders was the blacklisting of Huawei in the U.S. for security reasons. Much of Trump’s schedule in the U.K. involved being with the royal family and had the bilateral meeting with May on Tuesday.

Trump also met with the U.S. Ambassador, Woody Johnson, and Foreign Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, who greeted the president during his arrival.
