Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Wish Prince George a Happy Birthday on Instagram
Prince George just turned six and received a special tribute on his birthday from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex: “Wishing you a very special day!”
Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 37, wished their nephew, Prince George, a happy birthday on social media as the little lad celebrated his sixth birthday on June 22. The sweet message was shared in reply to a post of the Kensington Palace.
“Happy Birthday!” the reply read with an emoji of a cake and a balloon. “Wishing you a very special day and lots of love!”
Photos of the little prince were also posted on the royals’ official Instagram, including George in the gardens of Kensington Palace and during a “holiday,” all of which were taken by his mother, Kate Middleton.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share three new photographs of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness’s sixth birthday,” wrote Kensington Palace.
Fans and followers of the royal family also took to the comment section their warm greetings and well-wishes for George. One comment read:
“What a handsome little boy! A beautiful mix of Prince William and Duchess Kate.”
“Wow, he looks exactly like his dad! Happy sixth birthday, Prince George!” another said.
During his last birthday, the future King was honored by the Royal Mint with a release of a new £5 coin -- a memorabilia which featured “the legend of St. George and the Dragon.” Fans were allowed to purchase the collectible for £13.
The firstborn of Prince William and Middleton, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, was born on July 22, 2013, at the private Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital and made his public debut on the steps of the hospital a day after.
His birth was celebrated by the Royal Mint by handing “lucky” silver pennies to babies who were born on the same day. They also released coins to remember the young prince’s first and second birthday.
