TikTok Star Dazharia Shaffer Died at 18 — See Her Mother's Heartbreaking Tribute

Social media star Dazharia Shaffer, also known as Dee or Bxbygirlldee, cut her life short early in February, with her family confirming a suicide. She now leaves millions of fans in mourning.

Rising TikTok Star Dazharia Shaffer, best known by her social media identity as Bxbygirlldee, sadly passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021, with her father Raheem Alla confirming the shocking news via TikTok the next day.

"Unfortunately, she is no longer with us and has gone to a better place," Alla wrote as the caption to a video in memory of his deceased daughter, who died at 18. He also took a moment to thank his daughter's fans and followers for the affection and support they displayed after hearing of the star's fate.

As People magazine reported on February 10, the Coroner in charge of the case determined Dazharia’s death to be a suicide, something that her father Alla reflected about in a comment on a GoFundMe campaign he launched.

“I only wish she would have spoken to me about her stress and the thoughts of suicide. We could work thru [sic] this," Alla wrote, referring to his daughter as “little jelly bean.”

Alla went on to call his late child his “little best friend” and expressed that he wasn’t prepared to bury her. He recalled Dazharia always being happy to see him and excited about life.

Dazharia’s mother, Jennifer Shaffer, also took to social media to publicly address her daughter’s death, using her Facebook profile to share a farewell for her famous daughter, gone too soon.

"I'm so heartbroken. I really can't believe you're going. I wish I was waiting on you to say it was a prank, but it's not,” Jennifer wrote on February 10, in a post that received more than 2,000 reactions.

Dazharia had an impressive 1.6 million followers on TikTok, in addition to another over 100,000 followers on platforms like Instagram and YouTube, and her popularity was on the rise when her life was cut short in such a tragic way.

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dazharia rose to fame primary on TikTok but also amassed a significant following on other social media platforms, thanks to her documenting her daily life and taking part in viral challenges.

The day before her death, Dazharia posted a series of videos on her Instagram feed titled “Last post,” apparently as a way to say farewell to her many fans before taking her own life.
